Police Arrest Six Suspects in Ongoing Trailer and Load Theft Investigation
Waterloo Regional Police have arrested six suspects and seized stolen property and drugs as part of an ongoing investigation into truck, trailers, and load thefts.
On March 23, 2026, members of WRPS’ Break and Enter, Auto Theft, and Robbery (BEAR) Unit completed search warrants in Kitchener and Hamilton. Throughout the investigation, officers located and seized:
- A stolen tractor trailer
- Devices used to steal commercial motor vehicles
- Electronic global positioning system (GPS) locating device
- Electronic telecommunications signal jamming device
- Tracking devices
- Suspected heroin
- Suspect methamphetamine
As a result of the investigation, six adult males from Brampton, Mississauga and Paris were arrested and jointly charged with a total of 61 charges including:
- Possession of stolen property over $5,000
- Motor vehicle theft (organized crime)
- Extortion
- Possession of automobile master key
- Possession of break and enter tools
- Dangerous driving
- Assault with a weapon
- Conspiracy to commit
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking
All accused were held for a bail hearing.
The investigation is ongoing.
