Police Arrest Youth after Collision Involving Stolen Vehicle in Cambridge
Waterloo Regional Police have charged a youth after a collision involving a stolen vehicle in Cambridge.
On November 17, 2024, at approximately 7:30 a.m., Waterloo Regional Police received a report that a Dodge Grand Caravan had been stolen from a residence in the area of Sekura Crescent and Munch Avenue.
Later that day, at approximately 1:05 p.m., police were contacted by members of the public who observed occupants fleeing from a motor vehicle after it struck a light pole on Landsdowne Road North near Blenheim Road.
South Division Patrol officers responded, began a search of the area, and located one of the involved parties.
At approximately 1:20 p.m., the driver of the vehicle, a male youth, was placed under arrest.
As a result of the investigation, the youth, a 17-year-old from Cambridge, was charged with:
- Theft over $5,000
- Possession of Stolen Property over $5,000
- Dangerous Operation of a Conveyance
The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
