Police Charge Driver after Dangerous Driving Incident in Kitchener
Waterloo Regional Police have charged a male following a dangerous driving incident in Kitchener.
On October 23, 2025, at approximately 11:20 p.m., a Central Division officer observed a vehicle performing donuts in a parking lot near Ottawa Street North and River Road East. As the officer approached, the vehicle fled the area at a high rate of speed. No pursuit was initiated due to public safety concerns.
A short time later, police received a report of a collision near Ottawa Street and River Road, where the same vehicle had struck a pole. Witnesses observed the driver fleeing the scene on foot and jumping fences in an attempt to evade arrest.
On October 24, 2025, the driver turned themselves in and was arrested without incident.
As a result of the investigation, a 21-year-old Kitchener male was charged with the following offences:
- Dangerous Operation
- Flight from Peace Officer
- Drive Motor Vehicle – Perform Stunt (Cause Tire to Lose Traction)
- Unnecessary Noise
- Red Light – Fail to Stop
- Careless Driving
- Fail to Remain
- Fail to Report Accident
