Police Charge Driver with Impaired Driving Following Traffic Stop in North Dumfries

Waterloo Regional Police have charged a driver with impaired driving following a traffic stop in North Dumfries. 

On May 10, 2026, at approximately 3:15 a.m., officers conducted a traffic stop on Roseville Road near Edworthy Side Road after observing a vehicle travelling 124 km/h in a 60 k/h zone. Officers arrested the driver for impaired driving.

As a result of the investigation, an 18-year-old Cambridge male was a charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration
  • Speeding
  • Stunt driving
  • Careless driving
  • Novice driver- blood alcohol concentration above zero
  • Young driver- blood alcohol concentration above zero 

Waterloo Regional Police remind all motorists that impaired driving is a serious offence that puts lives at risk. If you suspect an impaired driver, call 9-1-1 immediately.
