Police Charge Kitchener Male with Human Trafficking Offences
The Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Human Trafficking Team has charged a Kitchener male with 15 criminal offences in connection with an ongoing human trafficking investigation.
In August 2025, police began an investigation after receiving information regarding human trafficking in Waterloo Region.
As part of the investigation, on April 8, 2026, WRPS’ Human Trafficking Team, with assistance from the Mobile Surveillance Team, Emergency Response Team, and Direct Action Response Team, arrested a 35-year-old Kitchener male.
A search warrant was executed at a residence in Kitchener, and two loaded handguns, ammunition, and currency were seized.
The accused has been charged with 15 criminal offences, including:
Trafficking in persons (two counts)
Advertising sexual services (two counts)
Material benefit from sexual services (two counts)
Material benefit from trafficking in persons
Unauthorized possession of firearm (two counts)
The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
The investigation remains ongoing by WRPS’ Human Trafficking Team.
