Police Continue to Investigate Hit-and Run-Collision in Waterloo

Waterloo Regional Police have laid charges in connection to a hit-and-run collision in Waterloo.

On February 26, 2026, two vehicles were involved in a minor collision, which led to a physical altercation between the drivers and additional damage to one of the vehicles. One of the drivers then fled the scene.

As a result of the investigation, on March 3, 2026, a 26-year-old Kitchener male was arrested and charged with several offences, including:

  • Assault
  • Mischief Under $5,000
  • Fail to Remain
  • Careless Driving

Waterloo Regional Police are continuing to investigate a hit-and-run collision in Waterloo.

On February 26, 2026, at approximately 11:10 a.m., police received a report of a hit-and-run collision in the area of University Avenue East and Bridge Street West.

Through investigation, it was determined that the drivers of two vehicles were involved in a minor collision, which subsequently led to a physical altercation between them.

One of the male drivers began directing racial slurs towards the other driver while physically assaulting him. The suspect then caused additional damage to the victim’s vehicle before fleeing the scene of the collision.

The victim, a 65-year-old Waterloo male, reported no physical injuries. 

The investigation is ongoing, and charges are anticipated.
