Police Continue to Investigate an Online Threat in Waterloo Region and Guelph

Waterloo Regional Police are continuing to investigate an online threat in Waterloo Region and Guelph.

On March 22, 2025, threats were posted on the Hillel Ontario website towards members of the Jewish community.

The threats are being investigated by members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s General Investigations and Cybercrime Units. 

On March 26, 2025, a 17-year-old male was arrested and charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm in relation to this incident. 

There is no ongoing threat to public safety, and the investigation is ongoing.
