Police Continue to Investigate a Weapons Incident in West Kitchener
Waterloo Regional Police are continuing to investigate a weapons incident in Kitchener.
On September 3, 2026, at approximately 10:25 p.m., police responded to reports that a male had brandished a firearm at a construction worker in the area of Ira Needles Boulevard and Yellow Birch Drive.
Through the investigation, it was determined that the driver of a rideshare vehicle attempted to travel through a section of Ira Needles Boulevard that was closed for construction. When the constructer worker approached the vehicle and advised that the road was closed, a passenger exited the vehicle, brandished a firearm, and threatened the worker. The suspect was last seen walking on Yellow Birch Drive.
There were no reported injuries as a result of the incident.
