Police Investigating after Copper Wire Seized
Waterloo Regional Police are continuing to investigate after copper wire was found in Waterloo.
On March 31, 2025, at approximately 9:45 a.m., police seized two bags of heavy gauge wire from two males who indicated they had found the wire on the roadside in the area of Erb Street West and Ira Needles Boulevard.
Officers are continuing to investigate to determine ownership of the wire.

Police are encouraging businesses to report all wire and scrap metal thefts to police. Reporting can enable police to track crime patterns, potentially identify suspects, and assist in the return of stolen property.
