Police Investigating after Vehicle Flees from Traffic Stop in Kitchener
Waterloo Regional Police are continuing to investigate after a vehicle failed to stop for police during an attempted traffic stop in Kitchener.
On October 2, 2025, at approximately 5:30 p.m., officers attempted to stop a black Nissan motor vehicle in the area of Victoria Street South and Lawrence Avenue. The driver failed to stop, and the vehicle fled from police at a high rate of speed. The driver then lost control of the vehicle and collided with a residential property, causing significant structural damage.
The driver and passenger fled the scene on foot but were arrested by police a short time later.
The driver, a 21-year-old Waterloo male, was charged with several offences, including:
- Flight From Police
- Dangerous Operation
- Fail to Stop After Accident
- Drive Under Suspension
- Fail to have Insurance Card
The passenger, an 18-year-old male from Woolwich Township, was charged with Fail to Stop After Accident.
No physical injuries were reported.
The investigation remains ongoing.
