Police Investigating a Distraction Theft in Cambridge

Waterloo Regional Police are investigating following a report of a suspicious person in Cambridge.

On January 10, 2026, at approximately 12 p.m., police received a report that an elderly female was approached by a male and female in a vehicle in the area of Franklin Boulevard and Elgin Street.

The female passenger exited the vehicle, spoke briefly with the woman, and attempted to place a necklace around her neck. The victim backed away, and the vehicle left the area shortly after.

There were no physical injuries reported.

The vehicle was described as a dark-coloured vehicle.

The investigation remains ongoing.
