Police Investigating Frauds at Kitchener and Waterloo Financial Institutions

UPDATED MEDIA RELEASE:

Waterloo Regional Police have laid 19 charges in connection to multiple frauds at financial institutions in Waterloo Region.

In June 2025, a male suspect visited four credit unions in Kitchener and Waterloo and presented fraudulent documents to withdraw funds.

Investigators subsequently identified the male suspect.

As a result of the investigation, a 61-year-old male from Oxford County was arrested and charged with 19 criminal offences, including:

  • Identify Fraud (nine counts)
  • Utter Forged Document - Use (nine counts)
  • Possession of an Identity Document

The Waterloo Regional Police are investigating multiple fraud incidents at financial institutions across Waterloo Region.

Between June 20 and 26, 2025, an unknown male visited four financial institutions in Kitchener and Waterloo and presented fraudulent documents to withdraw funds.

Investigators would like to identify and speak with the individual pictured below in connection to these incidents.
