 Thefts from motor vehicles

In one incident, on February 10, 2025, at around 6 a.m., a garage door opener stolen from a vehicle on Pheasant Avenue was used to open the garage door of a residence. Property, including power tools and a leaf blower, was stolen.

Other items targeted in these incidents included cash, wallets, electronics, identity documents, and fragrances.

On February 18, 2025, officers arrested a 30-year-old male in connection to three thefts from motor vehicle incidents – one on Bishop Street South and two on Clare Avenue. Stolen property, including a laptop, cell phones, and bank cards, were recovered.

The male was charged with possession of stolen goods under $5,000 and possession of an identity document and held in police custody for a bail hearing.

The investigation into the other 17 incidents remains ongoing.

Police encourage vehicle owners to park in a secure location where possible, lock vehicle doors, and ensure that valuables are not left in plain sight.
