Police Investigating Residential Break-In in Activa Area of Kitchener
Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a residential break-and-enter in Kitchener.
Members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Break, Enter, and Vehicle Theft Team are investigating a residential break-and-enter that occurred in the area of Activa Avenue and Doll Court.
Through the investigation, officers determined that the unknown suspect(s) gained entry to the home by damaging the side basement window. Once inside, unknown suspect(s) stole property including multiple pieces of jewellery.
Investigators are requesting that residents in the area to check their home security cameras between 4:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. on January 2, 2026, for any suspicious activity, vehicles or persons.
WRPS’ Break, Enter, and Vehicle Theft Team is encouraging community members to consider the following tips to help prevent break-ins:
- Keep doors and windows locked, even when at home
- Keep valuables out of common areas and out of plain sight
- Install audible noise alarm systems
- Secure residences with home video surveillance cameras in the front and back of the residence
- Notify neighbours when away for an extended period and arrange to have someone check on your residence
- Report any suspicious persons or vehicles in the neighbourhood to police
