Three Arrested Following a Drug Trafficking Investigation

The Waterloo Regional Police have arrested three individuals in relation to a drug trafficking investigation where drugs, currency and a firearm were seized.

In July 2025, WRPS Intelligence Unit, Gangs and Hate Crime team initiated a drug investigation. Through the investigation, a 36-year-old male and female and a 48-year-old male were identified as being involved in a drug trafficking operation in and outside of the Region.

On December 30, 2025, investigators from WRPS Gangs and Hate Crime Team with the assistance of the Drugs and Firearms, Offender Management Unit and Emergency Response Team completed search warrants on 2 residences in connection to the investigation. As a result, investigators seized 7 kilograms of suspected Methamphetamine, a Firearm, Fentanyl, Cocaine, Opiates in pill form, Psilocybin, Marihuana, Currency and drug indicia.

Large quantity of suspected drugs that were seized

The 36-year-old Kitchener male and female were arrested and charged with:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in a Schedule I Substance x 4 counts.
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule IV Substance.
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule III Substance.
  • Possession for the Purpose of Sale of Distribution – Federal Cannabis Act.
  • Possession of a Firearm Knowing It’s Possession is Unauthorized.
  • Careless Storage of a Firearm.

The 48-year-old Kitchener male has been charged with:

  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule I Substance X 2 counts.
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule IV Substance.
  • Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Schedule III Substance.
  • Possession for the Purpose of Sale of Distribution – Federal Cannabis Act.

The accused parties were held for a bail hearing.
