Waterloo Regional Police have arrested two individuals following a break and enter investigation in Waterloo.

During the morning hours of August 29, 2026, members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service were conducting proactive patrols in the area of Hickory Street and Hemlock Street.

While on patrol, officers observed a 20-year-old female and a 31-year-old male, both from Waterloo, committing a break and enter at a multi-unit residential building. Both individuals were arrested as they exited the building.

At the time of their arrest, investigators determined both accused were wanted on outstanding warrants. Police also learned the male was wanted in connection with a robbery involving a knife that occurred earlier in August 2026.

As a result of the investigation, multiple charges were laid. In total, the accused face 16 Criminal Code charges, including Break and Enter, Possession of Break-In Instruments, Possession of Stolen Property, weapons offences, and Fail to Comply with Court Order offences.

Both accused were held in custody pending a bail hearing.

The investigation remains ongoing.
