Waterloo Regional Police Arrest Male in Child Sexual Exploitation Investigation

Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a male in Kitchener following an investigation into the online sexual exploitation of children.

The Department of Homeland Security Criminal Investigations (HSI – Toronto) is investigating individuals who sell live streaming webcam shows involving the sexual abuse and exploitation of children to paying customers worldwide, commonly referred to as livestream child sexual abuse.

As part of that investigation, HSI – Toronto notified the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Cybercrime – Internet Child Exploitation Unit of a local offender.

As a result of the investigation, on April 10, 2026, an 80-year-old Kitchener male was arrested and charged with multiple criminal offences, including:

  • Agree and/or arrange to commit a sexual offence against a child (two counts)
  • Sexual assault (party to the offence)
  • Obtaining sexual services for consideration from a person under 18 years
  • Make child sexual abuse and exploitation material (CSAEM)
  • Possession of child sexual abuse and exploitation material (CSAEM)
  • Make available child sexual abuse and exploitation material (CSAEM)

The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
