Waterloo Regional Police Arrest Male Following a Fleeing Motor Vehicle Incident in Cambridge

On Thursday, April 16, 2026, shortly before 10:30 p.m., an officer with the Waterloo Regional Police Service Traffic Services Enforcement Team observed a grey 2012 Ford Focus displaying two different licence plates, both of which were confirmed to be expired. The vehicle was located in the area of Franklin Boulevard and Avenue Road in Cambridge.

Police attempted to stop the vehicle on Canamera Parkway; however, the driver fled. The vehicle was later observed in the area of Langs Drive and Mary Avenue. No attempt was made to stop the vehicle at that time.

A short time later, the driver continued travelling before colliding with a residence on Concession Road. The driver fled the scene on foot but was located a short distance away and arrested.

The driver, a 33-year-old male, was held for a bail hearing and faces several criminal and Highway Traffic Act charges.
