Waterloo Regional Police Arrest One Driver at a Labour Dispute in Woolwich Township

Waterloo Regional Police responded to a collision involving a pedestrian in Woolwich Township.

On March 3, 2025, at approximately 7:40 p.m., police responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle in the area of Airport Road and Fountain Street North.

The pedestrian was part of a labour dispute in the area at the time of the incident. The driver of the motor vehicle struck the pedestrian as they were proceeding past picketers.

There were no reports of any physical injuries.

The driver was stopped by police and arrested for dangerous driving.

For public safety reasons, WRPS advised the public to avoid the area for the safety of the group and drivers.

WRPS’ Police Liaison Team continue to work with involved parties to preserve the peace, prevent offences, and enforce the law.
