Waterloo Regional Police have arrested two individuals after recovering a stolen vehicle in Waterloo.

On September 11, 2026, at approximately 8:10 p.m., members of WRPS’ Direct Action Response Team (DART) located a stolen red Ford Edge in the area of King Street North and Weber Street North.

Officers contained and approached the vehicle, which was occupied by two individuals. The driver refused to surrender and was observed reaching toward an item beside the driver's seat. Officers subsequently took the driver into custody and recovered a knife from inside the vehicle.

No injuries were reported to either occupant or responding officers.

The vehicle had been reported stolen in Cambridge on September 7, 2026.

As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old Cambridge female was charged with:

• Theft of Motor Vehicle
• Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000

A 45-year-old Waterloo male was charged with:

• Occupant of Motor Vehicle Without Consent
• Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose
