Waterloo Regional Police Arrest Two Following Firearms and Drug Trafficking Investigation in Kitchener

Waterloo Regional Police have arrested two individuals and seized a loaded handgun and controlled substances following a firearms and drug trafficking investigation in Kitchener.

In early 2026, members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Central Division Street Crime Team initiated an investigation into drug trafficking and firearms-related offences.

On August 12, 2026, investigators executed a search warrant at a residence in the area of Country Hill Drive in Kitchener.

As a result of the search, investigators seized:

  • A loaded handgun
  • Ammunition
  • Suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, and hydromorphone

A 34-year-old male and a 26-year-old Kitchener female were arrested and jointly charged with:

  • Three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possession of a prohibited device
  • Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition
  • Careless storage of a firearm

The 34-year-old male was also charged with possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order and fail to comply with a probation order.

The 26-year-old female was additionally charged with fail to comply with a court order.

Both accused parties were held in police custody for a bail hearing.
