On April 16, 2026, Waterloo Regional Police arrested and charged a 22-year-old female from Scarborough in connection with three jewellery distraction thefts that occurred on November 4, 2025, in Kitchener.

As a result of the investigation, the female was charged with two counts of Theft Under $5,000 and one count of Robbery.

The accused was held for a bail hearing.
