Waterloo Regional Police Charge Kitchener Male in Child Exploitation Investigation
Waterloo Regional Police have charged a Waterloo male as part of an investigation involving child sexual abuse and exploitation material (CSAEM – formerly referred to as child pornography).
In November 2025, WRPS, with the assistance of the Laurier Special Constable Service (SCS), began an investigation after the National Child Exploitation Coordination Centre (NCECC) provided information about a Waterloo resident.
As a result of the investigation, on May 11, 2026, an 18-year-old Waterloo male was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of Child Sexual Assault and Exploitation Material
- Making Child Sexual Assault and Exploitation Material
The accused was held in custody for a bail hearing.
The Waterloo Regional Police Service is a member of the Ontario Provincial Strategy to Protect Children from Sexual Abuse and Exploitation on the Internet. This initiative is supported by a grant from the Ministry of the Solicitor General.
