Waterloo Regional Police Charge Male Following Child Exploitation Investigation
Members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service's Cybercrime - Internet Child Exploitation Unit have arrested and charged a male following an investigation into the accessing of Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Material (CSAEM).
In July 2026, investigators began an investigation into the accessing of CSAEM.
As a result of the investigation, on July 20, 2026, police arrested a 35-year-old Cambridge male after determining he had been using the dark web to access CSAEM.
The accused has been charged with one count of Accessing Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation Material.
The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
