Waterloo Regional Police Charge Male Following Stabbing Incident in Cambridge
Waterloo Regional Police have charged a male following an altercation in Cambridge that left a dog seriously injured and a male with minor physical injuries.
On May 9, 2026, at approximately 11 a.m., police responded to a report of an incident that had occurred the previous evening at a residential property in the area of Harris Street and Maple Ridge Road.
Investigators learned that an altercation had taken place, during which a dog was stabbed and sustained significant injuries. A male was also stabbed and suffered minor physical injuries. The dog was transported to a local animal hospital and is expected to recover.
As a result of the investigation, a 68-year-old Cambridge male has been charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and injury to an animal.
The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
