Waterloo Regional Police Investigate a Collision in Kitchener Involving a Hydro Pole

Waterloo Regional Police Service responded to a single motor vehicle collision in Kitchener.

On July 14, 2025, at approximately 4 p.m., emergency services responded to reports of a collision in the area of Ottawa Street North and Montcalm Drive.

A Toyota Sedan was found to have collided with a hydro pole, causing the pole to break. 

There were no physical injuries reported, however the area remained temporarily closed for several hours to vehicular and pedestrian traffic as hydro crews removed the damaged pole. 

A 51-year-old Kitchener male has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act. 

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or have dash camera video footage is asked to call at 519-570-9777.
