Waterloo Regional Police Investigating Collision in Wilmot

Waterloo Regional Police are continuing to investigate a collision in Wilmot.

On August 20, 2026, at approximately 4:30 p.m., police responded to reports of a collision involving a fuel truck and a pickup truck on Walker Road at Oxford-Waterloo Road. 

Through the investigation, it was determined that the driver of the fuel truck lost control while making a right turn, causing the vehicle to overturn. The tanker, which was carrying diesel fuel, then struck a passing pickup truck before coming to a rest on its side, resulting in a diesel fuel spill.  

The driver of the fuel truck was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the pickup truck was treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries. 

The Ministry of Environment was notified and responded. 

The investigation is ongoing, and charges are anticipated.
