Waterloo Regional Police Investigating Residential Break-and-Enter in Kitchener

Waterloo Regional Police’s Break and Enter, Auto Theft, and Robbery (BEAR) Unit is investigating a residential break-and-enter in Kitchener.

On July 31, 2026, unknown suspect(s) entered a residence in the area of Broadacre Drive by prying open a window. Once inside, property was stolen.

BEAR Unit investigators are asking residents in the area to review any home security camera footage captured between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on July 31, 2026.

Police are also encouraging residents to take the following steps to help prevent break-ins:

  • Keep doors and windows locked, even when at home.
  • Keep valuables out of common areas and out of plain sight.
  • Install audible alarm systems.
  • Secure residences with home video surveillance cameras at the front and rear of the property.
  • Notify neighbours when away for an extended period and arrange for someone to check on the residence.
  • Report suspicious persons or vehicles to police.
