Waterloo Regional Police Investigating Stabbing Incident in Waterloo
Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a stabbing incident that occurred in Waterloo.
On September 8, 2026, at approximately 12:55 a.m., officers responded to the area of King Street North and Princess Street West following reports of an altercation involving two groups.
During the incident, a male youth sustained multiple stab wounds and was transported to an out-of-region hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Investigators also determined the youth was sprayed with bear spray during the altercation.
Several bystanders suffered minor injuries after being exposed to the bear spray and were treated at the scene by Region of Waterloo Paramedic Services.
A second male attended a local hospital with minor knife-related injuries and is believed to have been involved in the altercation.
Police remained in the area for several hours while the investigation was conducted. The scene has since been released.
