Waterloo Regional Police Investigating Stabbing in Waterloo
UPDATED MEDIA RELEASE:
Waterloo Regional Police have laid charges in connection to a stabbing in Waterloo.
On March 27, 2026, at approximately 7:10 p.m., officers responded to a report of an assault in the area of Phillip Street and University Avenue West and located a male victim suffering from stab wounds. The victim was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
As a result of the investigation, on April 7, 2026, a 15-year-old male was arrested and charged with:
- Assault cause bodily harm
- Assault with a weapon
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Carry a concealed weapon
The youth was held for a bail hearing.

The victim was transported to hospital non-life‑threatening injuries.
Investigators believe this was a targeted incident.
Investigators are seeking to identify two individuals in connection to this incident:
- Male, approximately 16 years old, approximately 130 pounds, wearing ripped jeans, a white “Just Love” sweater, and a black jacket.
- Male, approximately 16 years old, approximately 100 pounds, with brown hair, wearing black shoes, black pants with a pink logo, and a black coat, and riding a black scooter.
The investigation remains ongoing by WRPS’ General Investigations Unit.
