Waterloo Regional Police Investigating Targeted Shooting Involving Armoured Vehicle in Waterloo

Waterloo Regional Police Service is continuing to investigate a targeted shooting involving an armoured vehicle at a financial institution in Waterloo.
On May 13, 2026, at approximately 2:30 a.m., officers responded to the area of Fischer‑Hallman Road and Erb Street West following reports of gunshots.
A 40-year-old male sustained a gunshot wound and was transported to an out-of-region hospital with serious injuries. The second victim, a 25-year-old male, reported no physical injuries.

On May 13, 2026, at approximately 2:30 a.m., officers with the Waterloo Regional Police Service responded to the area of Fischer‑Hallman Road and Erb Street West following reports of gunshots.
Upon arrival, police located a victim suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim, an employee of the armoured vehicle company, had been approached by multiple unknown individuals and was subsequently shot.
The victim, a 25-year-old male, was transported to an out‑of‑region hospital with serious injuries.
Investigators from the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Break and Enter, Auto Theft, and Robbery Unit, with assistance from the General Investigations Unit, are continuing to investigate.
