Waterloo Regional Police Lay Multiple Charges Following Thefts from Motor Vehicles in Waterloo’s Northdale Neighbourhood

Waterloo Regional Police have laid multiple charges in connection to a series of thefts from motor vehicles in Waterloo’s Northdale neighbourhood.

On August 15, 2025, members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Crime Suppression Analysis & Response (CSAR) North Direct-Action Response Team (DART) conducted an investigation related to a recent Community Crime Alert regarding thefts from motor vehicles in the area.

On August 17, 2025, members of the North Neighbourhood Patrol located a third individual who was connected to these incidences.

A 30-year-old Waterloo male has been arrested and charged with multiple criminal offences and has been held for a bail hearing.

There are currently no outstanding individuals in regard to this investigation.

WRPS continues to encourage members of the public to reports any suspicious activity observed.

On August 15, 2025, members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Crime Suppression Analysis & Response (CSAR) North Direct-Action Response Team (DART) conducted an investigation related to a recent Community Crime Alert regarding thefts from motor vehicles in the area.

As a result of the investigation, two males have been charged in connection with six incidents to date. A 30-year-old male and a 34-year-old male face a combined total of 85 charges, including:

  • Theft Under $5,000 – From Motor Vehicle

  • Mischief Under $5,000

  • Possession of Stolen Property

  • Use of Credit Card

  • Failing to Comply with Probation

One of the accused is currently in custody for similar offences. The second accused remains outstanding, and efforts are underway to locate him.

The investigation into the Community Crime Alert remains ongoing and additional charges may be considered as it progresses.

As part of WRPS’ Crime Analysis and Response Unit, DART is dedicated to enhancing community safety through proactive engagement, problem-oriented enforcement, and crime prevention initiatives. Residents are reminded to remove valuables from vehicles, lock doors, and report suspicious activity.
