Waterloo Regional Police Make Arrests and Seize Drugs and Firearm in Ongoing Investigation
Waterloo Regional Police have arrested two individuals and seize drugs and a firearm during an ongoing investigation.
On March 20, 2026, members of WRPS’ Street Crimes Unit completed two search warrants in Kitchener-Waterloo.
During the searches, investigators seized drugs, including suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl. A handgun with ammunition and two replica firearms were also seized.
A 44-year-old Waterloo male and a 44-year-old Kitchener male were both arrested and charged with:
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Possession of a prohibited firearm with ammunition
- Carless storage of a firearm
- Possession of a prohibited weapon (four counts)
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking (three counts)
One of the accused was also charged with:
- Possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order
Both accused were held for a bail hearing.
