Waterloo Regional Police Respond to a Collision in Kitchener
The Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Traffic Services Unit is investigating a serious collision that occurred in Kitchener.
On January 23, 2026, at approximately 10:45 a.m., emergency services responded to a report of a collision involving a Chevrolet motor vehicle and a pedestrian at Fischer-Hallman Road and Haldimand Street.
The pedestrian, a 65-year-old male from out of the region, was transported by ambulance to an out-of-region hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The 18-year-old female driver of the Chevrolet, from Kitchener, was not injured.
The investigation determined that an unrelated collision had occurred prior to the incident. While the pedestrian was outside of their vehicle, they were struck by the passing Chevrolet.
The intersection was closed for several hours to allow members of the Traffic Services Unit to conduct the investigation. Charges are anticipated.
