Waterloo Regional Police Respond to a Kitchener Robbery Involving a Noxious Substance
UPDATED MEDIA RELEASE:
Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a female in connection to a robbery investigation in Kitchener.
On November 9, 2024, at approximately 3 p.m., police responded to the area of King Street East and Sportsworld Drive for reports of a robbery involving a weapon.
A lone unknown female entered the store, concealed multiple items, and attempted to leave without paying. When staff approached, the female pulled out a noxious substance and began to spray it at the employees. The female then fled the area.
As a result of the investigation, on November 21, 2024, a 36-year-old Kitchener female was arrested and charged with:
- Robbery with a weapon
- Administer a noxious substance
- Weapons dangerous
- Breach of release order
The accused was held for a bail hearing.
