Waterloo Regional Police Respond to Multiple Commercial Break and Enters in the Region

Waterloo Regional Police are continuing to investigate a series of break and enters in Waterloo Region.
Between December 16 and December 17, police responded to several break and enters in the Region. In many incidents, the suspects forcefully made entry to businesses by breaking windows or doors during early morning hours.
On December 16, 2024, at approximately 4:25 a.m., three break and enters occurred at businesses located in a plaza in the area of Hespeler Road and Sheldon Drive in Cambridge.
Five suspects attended the plaza and broke the front glass for entry. The suspects entered the businesses and targeted cash registers.
Approximately an hour later, a business plaza in the area of University Avenue West and King Street North in Waterloo was targeted. Four businesses were broken into, and cash registers were targeted again.
Investigators believe the same suspects were involved in both incidents.

Waterloo Regional Police are issuing a warning to business owners after multiple commercial break and enters.
Between December 16 and December 17, police have responded to several break and enters in the Region. In many of the incidents, the suspects forcefully made entry by either breaking windows or doors during early hours of the morning.
Police are continuing the investigation to determine if the incidents are connected.
Police are reminding business owners of the following:
- Make sure all security devices are in working order
- Report any suspicious activity that may be observed during and after business hours
- Contact 911 immediately if you find your business broken into, and do not enter before police arrival
Police are asking anyone who witnesses any suspicious behaviour or a crime in progress to contact police immediately.
