Waterloo Regional Police Seek Witnesses in Kitchener Residential Break-and-Enters

Waterloo Regional Police are continuing to investigate a series of residential break and enters in Kitchener.

Members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service's Break and Enter, Auto Theft, and Robbery (BEAR) Unit are seeking witnesses and video footage related to incidents that occurred in the Deer Ridge and Newbury Drive areas on August 15, 2026.

Investigators are looking to identify and speak with a person observed in the Deer Ridge neighbourhood at approximately 11:30 a.m. The individual was seen walking through the area, taking photographs of homes and yards.

Person to identify

The individual is described as:

  • White male
  • Approximately 40 years old
  • 5’10” to 6’ tall
  • Short dark brown hair
  • Wearing a baseball cap, maroon T-shirt, and blue jeans

Investigators are also seeking information regarding a black BMW SUV that was observed in the Deer Ridge Drive area between approximately 5:20 p.m. and 6 p.m. and later in the Newbury Drive area at approximately 8:50 p.m.

As part of the investigation, officers are asking residents and motorists who were in the area and may have dash camera, residential security camera, or other video footage to review their recordings and submit any relevant footage.
