Waterloo Regional Police Service's Cybercrime - Internet Child Exploitation Unit Lays Charges
Waterloo Regional Police Service's Cybercrime - Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit has laid charges in a child pornography investigation.
Police began an investigation after a social media service reported to the National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children that a user was in possession of and making child pornography available.
As part of the investigation, on February 20, 2025, the ICE Unit completed a search warrant at a residence in the Galt area of Cambridge.
A 35-year-old Cambridge male was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Possession of Child Pornography
- Child Pornography – Make Available
The male was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
