The Waterloo Regional Police Service is welcoming members of the Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF) to Waterloo Region from October 19, 2026, to October 21, 2026, as part of Project BRIDGE, an international partnership focused on strengthening community safety through shared learning and community-based policing.

Project BRIDGE is a collaborative initiative between the Royal Grenada Police Force, Waterloo Regional Police Service, and York Regional Police. The program supports the exchange of policing knowledge, leadership development, youth engagement strategies, crime prevention initiatives, and community safety best practices.

During their visit, three RGPF officers are participating in sessions with Waterloo Regional Police Service members, gaining insight into areas including community safety and wellbeing, youth engagement, crime analysis, crime prevention, human trafficking awareness, and policing innovation. The delegation is also taking part in operational tours and knowledge-sharing opportunities before continuing their visit with York Regional Police.

Project BRIDGE, which stands for Building Resilience, Innovation and Development through Global Exchange, is grounded in the principle of mutual learning. The initiative creates opportunities for police partners in Grenada and Canada to exchange ideas, share expertise, and strengthen relationships that support safer communities. Project BRIDGE is supported through funding from the Canada Fund for Local Initiatives.

"This partnership reflects our shared commitment to community-focused policing and the belief that we can learn from one another's experiences," said WRPS Deputy Chief Jen Davis. "We are pleased to host our colleagues from the Royal Grenada Police Force and continue building meaningful relationships that support safer and stronger communities."
