WRPS Arrest Male after Responding to Commercial Break and Enter in Kitchener

Waterloo Regional Police have charged a male with multiple criminal offences following a break and enter at a business in Kitchener.

On April 19, 2025, at approximately 5:45 p.m., police responded to a break and enter in progress and a vehicle being stolen in the area of Shirley Drive and Cedarview Place.

Through investigation, it was determined that the stolen vehicle was in Cambridge. Officers located the vehicle in a parking lot in the area of Saginaw Parkway and Townline Road, and blocked the vehicle in. The driver accelerated and attempted to flee the parking lot while striking two police cruisers. Officers arrested the male.

There were no physical injuries reported.

As a result of the investigation, a 45-year-old Kitchener male was arrested and charged with:

  • Break and enter
  • Possession of break and enter tools
  • Mischief under $5,000
  • Motor vehicle theft (three counts)
  • Dangerous driving (two counts)
  • Flight from police
  • Drive while disqualified
  • Obstruct police
  • Drive while under suspension

The male was held for a bail hearing.
