WRPS Arrest Three Individuals and Seize Drugs & Firearm in Kitchener Investigation
Members of Waterloo Regional Police Service's Direct Action Response Team (DART) have arrested three individuals and seized drugs and a firearm as part of ongoing fraud investigation in Kitchener.
On March 27, 2025, members of DART conducted a traffic stop in the area of Kingsway Drive. As a result of the investigation, a 31-year-old Hamilton male was arrested and charged with:
- Possession of government identification (five counts)
- Possession of forged documents (five counts)
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Possession of a stolen credit card
As a result of the ongoing investigation, on May 22, 2025, officers completed a search warrant at a residence in the area of Fourth Avenue. Officers located and seized suspected methamphetamine and hydromorphone, as well as a firearm.
As a result of the investigation, 44-year-old male and a 41-year-old female, both from Kitchener, were arrested and charged with:
- Careless storage of a firearm
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited device
- Possession of a prohibited device knowing its possession is authorized
- Possession of suspected methamphetamine
- Possession of suspected hydromorphone
The 44-year-old male was also charged with:
- Possession of government identification (five counts)
- Possession of forged documents (five counts)
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
- Possession of a stolen credit card
- Identity theft
- Identity fraud
- Fail to comply with undertaking (two counts)
The accused parties were held in police custody for a bail hearing.
