WRPS' BEAR Unit Investigating Kitchener Break-In
Waterloo Regional Police are investigating a residential break-and-enter in Kitchener.
On January 23, 2026, at approximately 5 p.m., two male suspects broke into a residence on Killarney Crescent through a rear door.
The homeowner, who was present at the time, confronted the male suspects, who then fled from the home and left the area in a vehicle.
The investigation remains ongoing by WRPS’ Break and Enter, Auto Theft, and Robbery (BEAR) Unit.
Homeowners are encouraged to consider the following tips to help prevent break-ins:
- Keep doors and windows locked, even when at home
- Keep valuables out of common areas and out of plain sight
- Install audible noise alarm systems
- Secure residences with home video surveillance cameras in the front and back of the residence
- Report any suspicious persons or vehicles in the neighbourhood to police
