WRPS’ BEAR Unit Investigating Kitchener Break-In

Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Break and Enter, Auto Theft, and Robbery (BEAR) Unit is investigating a residential break-and-enter in Kitchener. 

On August 7, 2026, at approximately 10:15 p.m., unknown suspects entered a home on Aberdeen Road through the rear of the residence and stole property.

Investigators are requesting that residents in the area review home security camera footage from August 7, 2026, between 9 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. 

WRPS’ BEAR Unit is encouraging residents to take the following precautions to help prevent break-ins:

  • Keep doors and windows locked, even when at home
  • Install audible alarm systems
  • Equip residences with home video surveillance cameras at the front and back of the residence
  • Notify neighbours when away for an extended period and arrange to have someone check on your residence
  • Report any suspicious persons or vehicles to police
  • If backing on to a green space, consider using trail cameras.
