WRPS Charge Driver after Responding to Collision Involving LRT in Kitchener

The Waterloo Regional Police have laid a charge in a collision involving a school bus and LRT in Kitchener.

On November 29, 2024, at approximately 4:10 p.m., emergency services responded to reports of a collision between a school bus and an ION Light Rail Transit (LRT) vehicle on Ottawa Street South near Maurice Street.

The school bus had children on board at the time of the collision and there were no reported physical injuries.

The driver and passengers of the LRT reported no physical injuries.

As a result of the investigation, the bus driver, a 66-year-old male was charged with Change Lane- Not in Safety.
