WRPS' Crime Suppression, Analysis, and Response Unit Investigating Thefts from Vehicles in Waterloo

Waterloo Regional Police Service's Direct Action Response Team has laid 13 criminal charges in connection to thefts from motor vehicles in Waterloo.

As a result of the investigation, a 29-year-old Kitchener female and a 36-year-old Cambridge male have been charged with:

  • Break and Enter commit indictable offence (theft)
  • Mischief under $5,000
  • Possession of Stolen Property under $5,000
  • Theft of Credit Card (three counts)
  • Use of Credit Card (three counts)
  • Failure to comply with Judicial Release Order (two counts)
  • Failure to comply with Probation Order (two counts)

The accused parties were held in police custody for a bail hearing.

Waterloo Regional Police are continuing to investigate multiple thefts from motor vehicles in Waterloo.

Between May 18 and June 8, 2025, police received nine reports of thefts from vehicles in the Northdale area. The thefts occurred primarily during the overnight and early morning hours. Items stolen included cash, licence plates, personal identification cards and bank cards.

Thefts from motor vehicles locations

In one incident, on May 25, 2025, between 3:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., a vehicle was broken into in a parking garage located on Regina Street North. Several debit and credit cards were stolen. The stolen cards were subsequently used to make purchases at stores in Waterloo.

Investigators would like to identify and speak with the individual pictured below in connection to the May 25, 2025, theft incident.

Police encourage vehicle owners to park in a secure location where possible, lock vehicle doors, and ensure that valuables are not left in plain sight.

Please report any suspicious activity in your neighbourhood to police immediately. If possible, try to obtain a description and direction of travel of the suspect and/or vehicle.
