WRPS' Direct Action Response Team Seize Cocaine, Fentanyl, and Methamphetamine in Kitchener
Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Central Division Direct Action Response Team has arrested two individuals following a drug investigation in Kitchener.
On August 7, 2025, members of the Direct Action Response Team, with the assistance of the Emergency Response Team and Community and Youth Engagement Unit, completed a search warrant at a residence in the area of Victoria Street North and Forfar Avenue.
As a result of the investigation, investigators seized drugs, including suspected cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, and hydromorphone pills, and approximately $2,000 in Canadian currency. Police also located and seized several weapons, including a shuriken, a sword, a large machete-style knife, and ammunition.
A 58-year-old male and a 40-year-old female, both from Kitchener, have been charged with:
- Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking (four counts)
- Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Unauthorized Possession of Weapon
In addition, the male was charged with four counts of Possession of Weapon Contrary to Prohibition Order.
Both parties were held in police custody for a bail hearing.
