Waterloo Regional Police have arrested a male in connection to an armed robbery at a convenience store in Cambridge.

On February 5, 2026, at approximately 2 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery at a store in the area of Elgin Street North and Linwood Avenue. A male suspect confronted a store employee while brandishing a knife and stole cash. The suspect then fled on foot.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, on February 19, 2026, investigators arrested and charged a 27-year-old male with:

• Robbery with a weapon
• Weapons dangerous
• Disguise with intent

The accused was held for a bail hearing.

WRPS’ Break and Enter, Auto Theft and Robbery (BEAR) Unit would like to thank the residents in the area who provided video footage for this investigation, which assisted in the arrest of the accused.

Waterloo Regional Police are continuing to investigate an armed robbery at a convenience store in Cambridge.

On February 5, 2026, at approximately 2 p.m., police responded to a report of a robbery at a store in the area of Elgin Street North and Linwood Avenue.

A male suspect confronted a store employee while brandishing a knife and stole cash. The suspect then fled on foot.

No physical injuries were reported as a result of this incident.

The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 5’10” tall, with a thin build, wearing black pants and brown boots.

The investigation is ongoing by members of WRPS’ Break and Enter, Auto Theft, and Robbery (BEAR) Unit.

Anyone with information or who may have dash camera or surveillance video in the area at the time of the robbery is asked to call police at 519-570-9777, extension 8255.
