WRPS Lay Weapon-Related Charges Following Disturbance in Kitchener
Waterloo Regional Police have laid charges following a disturbance in Kitchener.
On June 9, 2026, at approximately 8:25 a.m., officers responded to the area of Kent Avenue and Charles Street East for reports of a disturbance.
An unknown male was observed yelling threatening remarks at members of the public while brandishing an edged weapon.
There were no reported physical injuries.
Police located the 35-year-old male from Waterloo in the area and placed him under arrest.
As a result of the investigation, the male has been charged with Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose, Assault with a Weapon, and Uttering Threats to Cause Bodily Harm.
The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing.
