WRPS Partners with Ontario Police Services for Commercial Motor Vehicle Blitz in Cambridge

On June 25 and 26 the Waterloo Regional Police Traffic Services Unit hosted a 2 day Commercial Motor Vehicle Safety Blitz in the City of Cambridge. 

WRPS partnered with members of the Ontario Provincial Police, Peel Regional Police, Guelph Police, Halton Regional Police, Ministry of Transportation, and the Ministry of Finance. 

During the span of two days: 

  • 280 Commercial Motor Vehicles were inspected. 

  • 90 of those vehicles were taken out of service for safety defects.

  • 188 charges were laid and over 100 warnings issued. 

  • 8 set of plates were removed and 

  • 2 three day suspensions were issued for the presence of alcohol or drugs.
