WRPS Recover Two Stolen Vehicles After Responding to a Residential Break and Enter
Members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Central Division Direct Action Response Team (DART) has arrested a 42-year-old Kitchener male after recovering two stolen vehicles as a result of a traffic stop.
On July 17, 2025, members of DART were on proactive patrol in the area of Ardelt Avenue in the city of Kitchener. They located and recovered a stolen Mercedes Benz that was taken after its keys were stolen during a residential break and enter earlier that day. Through the investigation, photos of the driver were obtained from local CCTV footage.
Shortly after, members of DART observed an Acura on Ardelt Avenue with no rear lights. A traffic stop was conducted, and police determined the driver was also the driver of the earlier stolen Mercedes Benz. Through further investigation, it was learned that the Acura was obtained by breaking and entering a nearby residence by the accused after fleeing from the previous residence on Ardelt Avenue.
As a result, the accused was charged with the following offences:
· Break and Enter and Commit Indictable Offence
· Theft of Motor Vehicle
· Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000
· Possession of Stolen Property Over $5000
· Possession of Schedule One Substance (Cocaine)
· Multiple offences contrary to the Highway Traffic Act
The investigation is ongoing and more charges are anticipated.
The accused was held for a bail hearing.
